Plans and Realities

I've read this from Our Daily Bread (January-June 2008 edition) that was given to me by my Professor in Methods in Teaching. Thanks Ma'am Mapa ^_^

You need to read this. If you're quite disappointed and weary because what you've expected and planned doesn't happen, well this would definitely help you.

When I went to Moody Bible Institute as an 18-year-old, I enrolled in the pastors program. I could picture myself preaching and leading a church just as my home church pastor was doing. Then, after hearing about the five faithful missionaries to the Auca Indians who were tragically killed in Ecuador, I even considered dedicating my life to missions.

But God had a different course laid out for me. Through His clear leading, and in accordance with the gifts He had given me, I became a teacher, editor, and writer.

Most of us have had similar experiences. We think ahead and carefully work out a plan. We picture in our minds with great detail how our future is going to unfold. But things don't go as planned. Some doors close, while others open. If this happens to you, it may be that God has something completely different in mind.

It's good to plan and dream and think ahead. But we must always be open to God-appointed changes in direction. "A man's heart plans his way," Solomon wrote, "but the Lord directs his steps" (Prov. 16:9).

God will never mislead us. When we trust Him with all our heart, He will direct our paths (Prov. 3:5-6). His way is always best. --Dave Egner

Should mystery enshroud His plan
And our short sight be dim,
We will not try the whole to scan
But leave each thread to Him.
--Murray

Where God's finger points,
His hand will make the way.

Proverbs 16:9
A man's heart plans his way,
but the Lord directs his steps.

ALL I WANT ^_^

One of my favorite songs that was being played in our church:)

Words and Music by Cyndy Yumang

Every song I sing proclaims Your glory
Every breath I take reflects Your majesty
In your wings oh Lord I'll find my comfort
Keep me Lord and stay
Hear me now I pray

In my darkest hour you strengthen me
Took away the blindness so I can see
In your sanctuary is where I wanna be
Take my hand and walk with me

All I want is to see you face to face
In your presence sheltered by your grace
Cause I can't stop praising
Loving you just keeps me going

All I want is to feel Your warm embrace
In Your loving arms I know I'll be safe
Cause I can't stop praising
Loving you just keeps me going

Quotable Quotes from "The Alchemist"

I got these quotes from the book of Paulo Coelho entitle "The Alchemist", one of his best selling books. I first read this book when I was in 4th year high school when our English Teacher obliged us to read it and make a book analysis.

Recently, I had a chance to reread it again. Well, worth it. :)
Had some additional insights.
It's the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary.
--yes, if people just knew how to appreciate even the simplest things they do have and not being hoodwinked by envies and jealousies. Some, perhaps, are unquenchable nor insatiable in their tastes.
When someone sees the same people everyday, they wind up becoming a part of that person's life. And they want the person to change. If someone isn't what others want them to be, the others become angry. Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.
--hhhmmm, just like loving ourselves first before loving others, know ourselves first before knowing others... including the flaws that we have and had.. and changes will eventually be stumbled upon.

The world's greatest lie: that at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate.
--It is being controlled by someone named Jesus Christ. It is a simple way of letting us feel that He is in control of everything and we should leave all the things upon Him.

The Soul of the World is nourished by people's happiness... To realize one's Personal Legend is a person's only obligation.
--nourished by people's happiness--indeed, that's a blessing, outrageous joy while taking the risks.
Personal Legend, I think, would be the mission and the reason why we were been created by the Creator. In the author's point of view, it's what we have always wanted to accomplish.

When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

--famous line in this book. Implied explanation.

Treasure is uncovered by the force of flowing water, and it is buried by the same currents.

--It is definitely depends on how we decipher the codes of the enigmatic things that happens on our lives. Whether positively or negatively.

The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world, and never to forget the drops of oil on the spoon.

Like everyone else--I see the world in terms of what I would like to see happen, not what actually does.

There must be a language that doesn't depend on words. It is the language of enthusiasm, of things accomplished with love and purpose, and as part of a search for something believed in and desired.

If I can learn to understand this language without words, I can learn to understand the world.

You must always know what it is that you want.

Never stop dreaming.

Making a decision was only the beginning of things. When someone makes a decision, he is really diving into a strong current that will carry him to places he had never dreamed of when he first made the decision.

People need not fear the unknown if they are capable of achieving what they need and want.

... Fear evaporates when we understand that our life stories and the history of the world were written by the same hand.

You have to think only about the best way of moving forward... The rest is up to Him.

Children International--Manila Agency GRADUATION

Officially, I have graduated in the Sponsorship.
*sniff*

but
predominantly happy:D

Earlier I have attended the graduation of CI-AKI at Philippine Educational Theater Association or PETA.

I had a lot of fun on this overwhelming day.

I was impressed and inspired in the whole program. Impressed because of the outstanding performance of AKTO (Abot Kamay Theater Org.) group about the different lives of sponsored youth who strive hard for their dreams. The message was indeed exceptional because of their acts and the reality that was manifested all throughout. A heartfelt thanks for Sir Edel who have directed and composed all the script of the whole performance of AKTO. It is a privilege to witness such deed. On the other hand, inspiring-- because of the insights that was shared by Ma'am Cynthia (the director of CI-AKI) and Sir Edel (Youth Program Coordinator).

Think big
Aim high
Make mistakes
Learn from them
Be humble
Start anew
Do what is right

--Ma'am Cynthia

6 ways to answer your problem
1. Know the problem.
2. Identify the reasons of it.
3. Think of the solutions to answer it.
4. Select one solution.
5. Do the chosen solution.
6. Evaluate the opted solution--if it answered the problem.

--Sir Edel

In this graduation,
I do really want to thank all the persons behind this institution.
They are the people who undoubtedly helped us,
to get through in our lives.
They are the people who consistently inspire us,
to live with our dreams.
They are the people who continually bless us,
to become what we want to be.

Our sponsorship in CI-AKI may end
but, we are still here to help in our very own way.
Words are not enough to express our gratitude
in the several years that we have been supported.
Through them we will not be what we are right now.
A fully-developed individuals
who never get tired to dream for our tomorrow's success.

As an active youth leader of CI-AKI,
I will continue to be a source of inspiration to my co-youth.
I will continue to transpire and be a role model in my community as well.
I will never get tired to offer and share my talents and abilities
in this institution.
--To be an agent of change.

As I continue my journey,
I will never ever forget what CI-AKI has brought me.
To become better and be my best at all times.
What they have taught me,
the way they molded me,
and the way they inspired me
will still be a big part of me.

Indeed, God is so great in giving me this opportunity
to become so blessed and surrounded by these people.
Whom I owe most.
They become my second family
who helped me to make my dreams turn into reality.
And made things possibly for a youth like me.

--Leonie

wahh.. teary eyes na tuloy ako...
all the things are worthy to be reminisced but... mixed emotions... happiness and sadness.
but I know like what they are always telling us, it doesn't end here. It's only the beginning.

Thank God for this wonderful day:D
I'll be treasuring this forever^_^

Harhar ^_^

http://www.myheritage.com/collage

QUeStioNable??

This day for me is seemingly questionable. I do not know the reason nor the explanation. Something wasn't happened the way I thought it would be. I hope everything would be settled soon. But, some of my realizations are written below ^_^

***************

We might have the situations in which things seem to be uncertain, constantly asking our very own self why we are experiencing it. We are being inquisitive and can't help to ask when we will know the answer and make things to be certain enough to understand.

Let's think deeply for a while...

It's simply because God's ways defy explanation.

Things aren't our way, it's His ways...

Most of the time we try to figure out the reasons why those happened...

But sometimes it's unfathomable...

Though how genius you are, things kept to be unexplained...

and God only knows why...

We just have to learn how to be more obedient on his will...

I should be.
